Les "sels de terres" que j'avais cru les Pontiaciens etre semblent avoir produit un ouef dont le senteur couvre le territoire de Quyon a Orleans et encore plus loin. 

Highs and lows

I first set foot on a ball diamond as a player in 1958. I have played at the very highest levels(60's Oshawa Tony's and Oshawa Scugog Cleaners) and have participated at it's lowest level(2011 CCFL). Nothing in all of that experience could have prepared me for the breath-taking arrogance I have been witness to in the past week. I CAN tell you that if a team manager had attempted such a power grab in Oshawa fastball, he would have had to have a talk with either Moe Bryan or Phil Solomon behind the Genosha hotel. You don't want to meet Moe Bryan when he is angry (as I can bear witness to).  Phil and his brother Bob were gentle souls who wouldn't hesitate to have a little talk with the manager either when it came to the very integrity of the game they(and I) love. So, I wish I could leave all of you with wishes of luck and a good season. I just can't now, given what I have seen what happens when one person incites a pack of selfish broads to bring such shame to the game.

Excommunication

 I felt bad until I looked at it another way. Being thrown out by the Church of Scientology and not having to see the female equivalent of Tom Cruise at regularly scheduled services is not a bad thing. Nope, not at all. Funny how some of the creatures which we share the genus homo sapiens seem not to have evolved past the law of the jungle and hide behind scrubbed facades of school-teacher or civil servant. Like the hypocritical Sgt-Major wannabe from OVA. He actually believes that his players respect him, when they actually fear the venomous voice and the potential for ridicule, and don't know that they don't have to do it. What is funny is how otherwise rational and ethical example of this pride of homo commonus fall into line without a peep? Like Dear Emily, I falsely believed you were made of sterner stuff. What exactly does "Chat soon!" mean?

 Do they fear the same fate? Do they blindly believe a raving sociopath who can gather the biggest army of those just making the slow leap from homo erectus to homo sapiens sine spiritum sanctuma , not even having yet glimpsed what it might be to not be part of a tribe of monkeys banging sticks on a corpse for their raw meat? I'll stay here with Nellie, avoiding cocktail parties in Dingdong-daddy-land.

  Les has the patience of a saint, being slapped in the face repeatedly and remaining true to his commitment is an admirable quality. I used to be like that, loyal to a fault having to make the hard and bitter transition to looking out for number one staring at him in the face at this late date after having believing for so long that there was good in everyone. Birth pangs must feel  like this. I hope I recognize myself afterwards.
